Paged to report of shouts for help from Cove harbour. 3 persons went out in a rowing boat. 1 made shore unaided, 2 in water directed onto rocks to await arrival of lifeboat. Rowing boat & 1 oar recovered & secured to rocks. Therefore 2 persons, 1 boat and an oar saved.

Called to report of shouts of help from cliffs at Newtonhill, On arrival found out one person from a group of two fishermen was missing. Searched area from Newtonhill bay to south of last known position. Search units from Aberdeen, Portlethen & Stonehaven Coastguard teams, both Aberdeen Lifeboats, Rescue Helicopter R137 & two M.R.I. boats from Stonehaven took part in the Search. Casualty was reported save and well at home in Dundee just after completion of search 0030 13/12
